Intense Sponsor Support, Golfing Sellout Seen for Next Month’s Golf Tourney
Top
Story
If the measure of a MUST DO event is the degree of industry support it enjoys, then “AIR’s 26th Annual Golf Classic”, set for September 9 at the newly-renovated Pacific Palms Resort/Industry Hills Golf Club, is the benchmark. |
This is underlined not only by the ongoing rush of sponsors “stepping up to the plate”, but by reports from AIR officials that golfer registration is certain to reach a sellout. |
Joy De La Cruz, AIR COO and event coordinator, reports that three more sponsors signed up in recent days. They are The Klabin Company and Coldwell Banker Commercial WESTMAC, both Hole Sponsors, and Past President Tom Walsmith, Tee Sponsor. This trio adds to the gracious support of the following “Who’s Who” list of sponsors previously on board, bringing the current total to 30 sponsors: |
Majestic Realty Co., Grand Patron; Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis, LLP, Bank of America, California Statewide CDC, Commerce Escrow Company, Master Development Corporation, OREXCO 1031 Exchange, Title Sponsors; U.S. Bank, Gold sponsor; DPA Insurance Services, Silver Sponsor; Greenberg Glusker, Beverage Cart; DAUM Commercial Real Estate Services, Margarita Station Sponsor; First American Exchange Corporation, Golf Cart; AMB Property Corporation, Pre-Tournament Long Drive Contest; Wells Fargo Bank, Putting Contest; The Altemus Company, Rexford Industrial, Wachovia Small Business Capital, Closest to the Pin; The Altemus Company, Old Republic Title, Straightest Drive Contest; Rockefeller Group Development Corporation, Long Drive Contest; Collins Commercial Corporation, Watson Land, SIOR OC/IE, Hole Sponsors; GM Properties, Inc., The Quantum Associates, Team Earnhart, and Ansoorian and Associates, Tee Sponsors, and Freeman, Freeman & Smiley, Raffle Sponsor. |
The “Ike” course at Industry Hills, ranked #1 by GOLF DIGEST and what is ranked one of the “10 Best Places to Play”, will be the singular scene of this year’s “Golf Classic”. To register for the golf tourney, contact Hayley Ramos at (213) 687-8777, ext. 4314, hramos@airea.com. For sponsorships contact De La Cruz at (213) 687-8777. |

Goals Are Real to Pentz
Member Profile
“I’m a goal-oriented person”. You’ve heard it repeatedly when querying folks about their approach to business. Yet, when pressed to explain, many of these same folks give you a blank stare. Not Bill Pentz. |
| Pentz is senior vice president and partner of DAUM Commercial Real Estate Services based in the firm’s Woodland Hills office. In fact, he’s one of the original founders of the re-designated company back in the ‘80s. So when Pentz, who began his career with what was then W. H. Daum & Staff in 1979, says he’s goal-oriented, he’s got some 39 years of success to back him. He also joined AIR that same year. |
| “I set my goals high and try to shoot for them. One of my key goals has been to specialize in industrial properties and work with owners. Not only do I like controlling properties, but owners are entrepreneurial individuals who have built up their companies and cherish them. I also enjoy working with diverse companies whether they make widgets or bows and arrows, largely because I’m curious about how people make their money,” Pentz said. |
Among Pentz’s recent outstanding transactions is the sale of a 90,000 square foot industrial building on Rye Canyon in Valencia. Pentz represented an investor/buyer and is marketing the available space for them. |
A graduate of California State University at Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design, Pentz resides in Westlake Village with his wife, Viviane. They have two grown children, Ryan, 35, and Lauren, 34. Bill and Viviane are fond of travel and will be departing for the Far East in a few months. |
